SHI-02 One-Day Watercolor Portrait Workshop
Instructor: Kathryn Field
June 30th, 2018
10:00 am – 4:30 pm
Tuition: $130, all materials provided
Intermediate to Advanced students.

In one day, Kathryn will teach you to complete an eye-stopping life-like watercolor of someone you love. Working from a high-resolution photograph, learn techniques for creating a grid to aid your drawing of proportions, and work with painting watercolors to create life-like portraits. The day will begin with a demonstration and then students work individually on their own large work. Individual instruction is given in this small class. All materials are provided.

Students should bring to the first class: a close up 8’x10” high-resolution photograph of the person they want to paint a portrait of. The image should be closely cropped, focused on the frontal position of the face plus neck. Print the photograph on glossy or matt heavyweight paper. Bring two copies. Please email instructor if you have any questions about how to take the photograph.
