Summer Fresh Flower Arranging & Care with Shirley Glines  - SOLD OUT

Enjoy learning basic fresh floral design techniques!  In this fun and engaging class, you'll work with many types of natural elements and fresh flowers to create a summer table arrangement perfect for gifting or enjoying in your home

Provided by instructor:   All Materials including fresh flowers (will vary from photo depending on availability), natural elements and containers.

INSTRUCTOR BIO
Shirley Glines is the owner of Zoe Jax Gin Designs, located in Moultonborough, NH.  In addition to designing and creating floral and greenery arrangements for weddings and other events, she imaginatively designs and constructs decorator pillows, Yoga eye pillows, neck 'hug' pillows, and soft jersey knit headbands.  Custom hand-sewn projects are frequent and welcome, as are floral and greenery arrangements for any occasion.

Introduction to Mosaics With Cindy Stanton
Wednesday, July 14:  9am - 3pm

Come and enjoy a day of hands-on exploration of mosaics!  The class will begin with an introduction to the direct method of making a mosaic and a brief presentation on elements of design in mosaic art.  Techniques and safe practices when cutting glass will be explained and demonstrated.  Each student will make and should be able to finish a 4" x 4" mosaic of his/her own design.  A wide variety of materials will be available for student use, including vitreous glass, ceramic and mirrored tile, stained glass, millefiori, and ceramic dishware.  Students are also encouraged to bring their own materials such as old plates, pottery, jewelry or other small objects which might be meaningful to them, to incorporate into their design.  While all materials required to complete the project will be provided, hand nippers will be available for purchase by students who wish to have their own.

Pack a lunch and come join us!

MATERIALS
Provided by instructor:  Tools, materials and substrate
Students should bring:
   • Lunch
   • Any materials they would like to build into their design (plates, pottery, other small objects)
   • Safety glasses (or if you wear glasses, many feel that is sufficient)

INSTRUCTOR BIO
Cindy Stanton is a retired academic who has been working in mosaics for six years.  She began working in the picassiette style (with broken pottery) and is now exploring the use of stone and small Italian smalti glass using a traditional hammer and hardie.  She has taken courses at the Chicago Mosaic School, the Ravenna Mosaic School, Mosaic Arts Online and with visiting artists at Mosaic Oasis in Arlington, MA.

Stone Chip Carving with Ellen Sidor
Thursday, July 22:  10am - 12pm
Tuition:  $45 – Materials Fee:  None 
Experience Level:   None Required.  Must be able to hold a small tool.
Age Range:  Teens and Adults


Shape soft stones into worry stones, fidgets, tiny gifts!  Come together and share the universal pleasure of creating something with your own hands.  Study a small chip of soft stone (talc, soapstone, alabaster) and wonder what it looks like.  A little shaping, a little polishing -- and you can make a unique and shiny piece of art!
Ellen Sidor will be demonstrating in the gallery on July 10 as she demonstrates her amazing stone carving skills!

MATERIALS
Provided by instructor:  All materials (random chips of soft stones, small rasps, polishing papers, wax for a finish)

INSTRUCTOR BIO
Ellen Sidor has been carving stone for 40 years.  A juried member of New England Sculptors Association (NESA), New Hapshire Art Association (NHAA) and the League of NH Craftsmen, she has shown her work in over 30 galleries from Arizona to New Hampshire, and has taught extensively on Cape Cod and elsewhere.

Fairy Houses Family Class with Patsy Frasier

Age Range:  Kids 9+ to Adult (kids should be accompanied by adult)



Everyone needs a little whimsy in their world and this is a perfect craft to learn and share as a family.  Every student will create a tiny Fairy House for your indoor or outdoor garden.  Made with a combination of garden stones, glass baubles & cement and embellished with treasures from nature and bits of bling.  Feel free to bring along any special treasures you might want to incorporate into your creation.  Bring your kids, bring your parents for a morning of fun!  Adults, also feel free to participate on your own. 

MATERIALS
Provided by instructor but feel free to bring along any special treasures you might want to incorporate into your creation.  Also, please bring a face mask to use while mixing and working with cement.

INSTRUCTOR BIO
Patsy Frasier has been a mixed media crafter from childhood.  She has stepped out of the workforce to follow her own creative path.  She has lived in NH since birth and Moultonborough since 2004.  Every piece she creates is one of a kind and nothing is mass produced.  The core of her creativity is to "Focus on Fun" which she does crafting a piece or offering a workshop so other can "focus on Fun" too.

Fall Silk Flower Sunflower Wreath with Shirley Glines

Celebrate the onset of fall!  In this class you'll work with silk flowers and other decorative elements to create a beautiful autumn wreath.  You'll start with silk foliage and sunflowers and learn how to add additional pieces to make the perfect wreath for your door, home or to gift to someone special.
